About Pocklington

PocklingtonA town like Pocklington is something of a rarity these days. When was the last time you walked down a town’s main street and didn’t see a single chain store?

Pocklington is a historic market town made up of wonderful and unusual, family run shops all of which are conveniently located within a few minute’s walk of each other.

The 15th Century Church dominates the beautiful little town which is nestled in the heart of the breathtaking Yorkshire Wolds.

Wandering around the town you will find amongst many others, gift shops, jewellers, clothes shops for women as well as a gorgeous children’s boutique selling all kinds of nursery equipment and clothes. We have a toy shop, a wool and craft shop, an art gallery, health food shop, shoe shops for women and children, fabulous deli’s and cake shops as well as a wonderful range of cafés and tea rooms.

In addition to the amazing Pocklington Arts Centre which attracts international acts we have the wonderful Burnby Hall Gardens and Stewart Museum. A place of peace and tranquillity and the biggest fish you have ever seen!
